Heads or Tails? Coins in History, History in Coins
Museum at the Old Town Market Square
We invite you to visit the latest temporary exhibition, “Heads or Tails? Coins in History, History in Coins,” which will be on display starting May 10 at the main building located at 3 Old Town Market Square.
This exhibition tells the story of money as a witness to history. The showcased coins come from various periods – from antiquity to modern times – including collector coins issued by the National Bank of Poland.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn what a thaler, kwartnik, or ducat was, what currency was used in the afterlife, how commemorative coins are made, and what money was in circulation during the reign of Poland’s first king.
This exhibition is intended for a wide audience – from history and numismatics enthusiasts to those simply looking to broaden their knowledge of old coins and more.
All exhibits come from the numismatic collection of the Archaeological and Historical Museum in Stargard.
