History and Local Community Research Department

One of the key tasks of the Department of History and Local Community Research is the collection, processing, and protection of museum collections covering a wide range of topics such as history, art, ethnography, and numismatics. Among them, one can find relics of bourgeois art, sacred art, funeral art, artistic crafts, handicrafts, painting, graphic arts, and drawing. The department staff also actively promote local culture and history through the organization of exhibitions, lectures, and cultural events. Among the most important cyclical initiatives organized for the local community, initiated by the Department, are the Stargard Historical Parade and the Meetings in the Market Square Tenement House.

The Department also conducts research for cultural institutions, researchers, and private individuals. It makes its collections available for scientific, educational, and exhibition purposes. As part of its activities, it acquires exhibits, conducts its own research, and presents its findings in the form of lectures and conference presentations. Additionally, it prepares projects aimed at obtaining external funds for the development of the Museum and its scholarly activities.
